Colapinto clarified that his intention in sharing this message was not political, but rather a response to the desperation of his acquaintances affected by the tragedy.
Following the repercussions of his post, Colapinto spoke out again to explain his stance, stating that he had disseminated Benamo's message due to the grave situation in Bahía Blanca, with devastated hospitals, people who have lost everything, and the need for an urgent response.
